Dave Slate - Co-founder
Dave co-founded Pattern Recognition in 1991 and served as Senior Research Scientist, developing improved forecasting methods using pattern recognition technology. He has an international reputation among computer chess researchers, as evidenced by recognition he received from IBM's Deep Blue team following its victory over Gary Kasparov. Dave led the Northwestern University computer chess team to six national championships and one world championship. For his contributions to computer chess, Dave received the "Allen Newell Medal for Scientific Excellence" from the American Association for Artificial Intelligence. He holds a B.S. in physics from the University of Illinois and a M.S. in physics from Northwestern University.
